Sonya is currently a PhD Graduate Student in the Mumenthaler Laboratory, where she studies the tumor microenvironment in pancreatic cancer, focusing on the influence of the biophysical environment or extracellular matrix stiffness on cell behavior. She is very passionate about innovation and technology in healthcare. Sonya earned her BS in Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics from UCLA. Outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors, playing music, and doing art.
